First, I love to learn about practical things that help me improve the work that I do and the skills that I have. There are several reasons for this:

1) God just made me this way! I have been tested at a really cool aptitude testing place (which I’ll write about later). So, I know my natural gifting… my natural abilities. I engage in learning different things to fulfill these different aptitudes.

2) I don’t like staying stagnant. Years ago, I heard about a book by an Intel CEO Andrew Grove called Only the Paranoid Survive. I fell in love with the title. (Come to think of it… I never read the book!) There was truth to that title then. How much more in today’s economy?

3) The world is a fascinating place. It is. Just look around at the beauty of the world or the magnitude of the sky or the multitude of the stars. Look at the way the human body, in all its complexity, works so perfectly. I can go on and on…. There is ALWAYS something cool to learn about!

Second, I love to share what I have learned to impart knowledge for another to benefit. I believe in the old adage: Give a man a fish; feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish; feed him for a lifetime.

For these reasons, I will be sharing about things which I already know something about (like project management) or things that I’m learning about (like scrum or big data). I share in hopes that it will help benefit you in your life and/or career.

Happy learning and growing,

Marline
